Complete Vehicle Diagnostics

INDICATOR LIGHTS: It seems cars have more lights then a decorated christmas tree. Those lights, often when flashing or on steady, are the vehicles way of telling you there is a problem. Whether it's a low tire or an engine running problem we can accurately diagnose the problem.

ON AGAIN OFF AGAIN: This is not uncommon when a component is failing. It may some times work and sometimes not. If the light goes out we can still access the computer memory where that fault is stored to get to the bottom it.

NO LIGHT: You can still experience problems with a vehicle and not have a indicator light. This maybe because the component that failed is just inaccurate but within it's tolerance range. Or the system may not turn on the light but store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

TROUBLE CODE READING:  Plugging in the scanner to pull diagnostic codes is only step 1. There is still testing that needs to be done to determine the cause of the failure. The DTC only tells you the system that is reporting a failure, not necessarily the faulty component. Case in point. DTC P0171 = System Lean Bank 1. This means that the computer has reached the maximum of it's ability to maintain the correct air fuel mixture, and is reporting the mixture is too lean on bank one of the engine. Several factors can cause this code such as lack of fuel, unmetered air, faulty sensors, inaccurate sensors, leaking gaskets, wiring or even the Computer. Proper diagnostics takes time, but it is time well spent. It will eliminate throwing parts at a problem and wasting money in an effort to solve it.
